"2021.03.27 04:10": "Prayer flags surrounding the Dalai Lama's temple in Dharmsala, India. This image was part of a documentary project exploring the cultural preservation of the Tibetan Exile Community while documenting in India in 2006.
This is Edition 5 of 5 and has the artist's signature and edition number in the corner of the print. The images were created on an early generation digital SLR and film so there are some distortions that add a unique texture to the images.
The image is part of a collection titled Understanding Peace. I was originally drawn to study the Tibetan community to better understand various aspects of pacifism in a diaspora that is essentially stateless due to their adherence to their stance on non-violence.
Funds raised from the sales of this collection will go towards my work in 2021-22 revisiting the fundamental premise of understanding peace in various post-conflict communities."
